Can you tell us about your latest project? What inspired it, and what can your fans expect from it?
My third studio album titled « Midheaven, » is set to release officially on August 29th, 2024, with a release show on August 23rd. This album is a deep exploration of my journey and experiences, especially focusing on themes of self-discovery, healing, empowerment and returning back to the wild soul. « Midheaven » is an aspect of the astrological chart, and mine sits in the sign of Scorpio. Scorpio energy is about death, rebirth and transformation. The past 3 years have been deeply transformational for me, and this body of work illustrates my journey through this major spiritual awakening. Fans can expect a portal that transports them to a sparkly dark world using a blend of soulful melodies, potent lyrical content, and a sound that reflects both my roots and evolution as an artist.
Songwriting can be a cathartic process. What emotions or messages do you hope your music conveys to listeners?
Songwriting is cathartic and music is my medicine. Through my music, I convey a range of emotions from vulnerability and pain to joy and triumph. I want my listeners to feel seen and understood, to know that they are not alone in their struggles. In my creative process, I intend to celebrate and connect over our shared humanity and experiences, breaking down identity barriers and fostering a sense of belonging. Ultimately, I hope my songs inspire healing, empowerment, and a deeper sense of self-awareness in my listeners.
How has your musical style evolved over the years, and what do you hope to convey through your music now compared to when you first started your career?
My early music was deeply rooted in my personal experiences and emotions, and while that remains a core aspect, I’ve since expanded my scope to create from places other than pain and create a more polished sound. My current music reflects a more mature and holistic approach to life, spirituality, and artistry.
Many fans look up to their favorite artists as role models. What advice do you have for aspiring musicians who hope to make a name for themselves in the music industry?
For aspiring musicians, my advice is to stay true to yourself and your unique voice. The music industry can be tough, but authenticity and perseverance are key. Make intentional space to connect with yourself and become familiar with your creative process. Most importantly, prioritize your mental and emotional well-being, as it’s easy to get lost in the pressures of the industry. Develop a wellness practice, build a solid support system, connect with your community, and find mentors who can guide you. Invest in your craft, keep learning, and take risks, be brave!
